Looking for a practical way to love your city and its charities, people, and places? Volunteering is a great way to do this! Edmonton is full of great causes that could use your time, skills, and passion to help make this city a better place to live for everyone.

Volunteering has many benefits - not just for the people, causes, and organizations you help, but also for yourself! Volunteering helps you meet new people, build community, gain a sense of purpose, learn new skills, and even feel happier and healthier.

Looking for some places to volunteer? Here are a few suggestions:

@cityofedmonton - assisting persons with disabilities, cleaning up litter, annual triathlon, museums and zoos, recycling programs - and that’s just to name a few!

@more.than.a.fad - a local thrift store with three locations that supports @adrearecovery - an addiction recovery centre for women

@themustardseedyeg - a local organization reducing homelessness and building hope for Edmontonians.

@rmhcalberta - Ronald McDonald House Alberta - support families of sick children by greeting guests, driving shuttles, refreshing and cleaning the house, and more

@yegfoodbank - Edmonton’s Food Bank works to relieve and prevent hunger, and you can help by sorting goods, packing hampers, drive to deliver hampers, conduct intake interviews, and more

And that’s just a few of the great causes in our city that could benefit from your time, skills, and passion to help! What are some of the places you volunteer (or would like to volunteer) not listed here? Comment below!
