Maybe you’ve been here: you’re stressed, anxious, tired, or out-of-sorts, but your self-care methods just aren’t coming to mind. Your brain is too full (or too empty!) to come up with ways to take care of yourself.

It totally makes sense: often, when you’re in the middle of a difficult situation, you can’t make the mental switch to relaxation. This is why it’s helpful to create a list of self-care tips for times like these.

When you’re feeling positive or settled or clear-minded, write down all the ways you like to practice self-care. Think of all the activities and habits that help you relax, clear your mind, and make you feel more like yourself - and then write them down. Keep that list with you at all times. Put it on your phone, post it beside your bed, or carry it with you in your backpack.

Now, no matter where you are, you have self-care tips at the ready. And on the plus side: you don’t have to come up with ways to help yourself! The you of the past has already done the hard work, you now just have to pick an activity and get going on that self-care.
