It’s only Monday, and if your week is already feeling hard or tiring, let’s talk about self-care. Often, self-care is about eating healthy or going for a walk or getting to bed early. But today’s simple self-care tip is just about asking for help.

We like to think we can handle our lives on our own or do everything ourselves. We sometimes even tell ourselves that asking for help is a sign of weakness. But think of it this way: if asking for help will get you the support you need for a better, healthier life - isn’t that a sign of strength?

Start small by connecting with someone you trust. Just a simple message or phone call to ask, “Hey, can we talk?” can work towards asking for help.

If it feels like too much to ask another person, or if you’re not sure who to turn to: try praying. We can’t do everything on our own, and God can give us the strength we’re craving.

It’s hard to ask for help, but letting someone - a friend or God - know you need it can be a step towards caring for yourself. Remember: the simplest self-care is often the most powerful!
