A series where we investigate the various meals that are recorded in Luke's gospel. Through them we're given windows into who Jesus is, His message of grace, and how He defines community and mission.

Carolyn Steel in Hungry City writes, “Few acts are more expressive of companionship than the shared meal…someone with whom we share food is likely to be our friend, or well on the way to becoming one.” Throughout history, the table has been the epicenter for relational life. When Jesus came to seek and save the lost, he came to eat and drink with sinners. As Tim Chester notes in Meals with Jesus, “Jesus’ mission strategy was a long meal.” We hope that as we travel from meal to meal with Jesus in Luke’s gospel, we will grow in wonder that he seats sinners at his table, and be spurred on to spread a welcoming feast for others in his name so that we might enjoy the Savior together.

What is about sharing a meal with friends and family that you find so satisfying and meaningful?  Why do you experience welcome, hospitality, companionship, & acceptance at the dinner table?  This ritual is central to our being.

We invite you to encounter the host of the meal, Jesus Christ, and experience what it means that He invites you to the table.
